Probablemente hayas escuchado en
las noticias que México es un lugar peligroso para visitar y no deberías venir
bajo ninguna circunstancia. Déjame decirte algo, eso no es verdad en absoluto,
quiero decir, obviamente, hay algunas zonas peligrosas como cualquier otro
lugar de América Latina. México es un país diseñado para recibir turistas y se
encuentra entre los diez primeros de los países más visitados del mundo.
Si planeas venir a Los Cabos,
Cancún, Playa del Carmen o Tulum, estos son lugares totalmente seguros, de
hecho, este tipo de playas están hechas para el turismo internacional, todo el
mundo habla inglés, se aceptan dólares americanos en cualquier lugar, y hay una
policía especial enfocada en proteger a los visitantes.
Sin embargo, si quieres ir más
allá de los centros turísticos, la historia es completamente diferente. Más
allá de los lugares turísticos, no mucha gente habla inglés en México. Si
quieres ir al México real tienes que tener en cuenta las siguientes
recomendaciones.
• Evita viajar de noche y evita
los lugares solitarios.
• Si no hablas español, es
importante visitar estos lugares con un lugareño que conozca el lugar al que
deseas ir.
• Siempre lleva efectivo contigo,
no muchas tiendas normales aceptan tarjetas de crédito, y siempre lleve dinero
de baja denominación, no trates de pagar una botella de agua de 10 pesos con
1000 pesos.
• No te vistas llamativo y evita
usar tu teléfono inteligente o cualquier otro dispositivo en público.
• Ten confianza y actúa con
normalidad.
Estas recomendaciones son para
hacer tu viaje más seguro, no te estreses, los mexicanos son gente muy amable,
si no sabes algo, por ejemplo cómo llegar a tu sitio de destino, estoy muy seguro
de que alguien estará encantado de ayudarte, por eso es importante que sepas
algo de español, por lo menos lo básico.

te daré algunos otros consejos para tu primer viaje a México, México es un país
enorme y diverso, y estoy bastante seguro de que hay muchos lugares para ti, dale
una oportunidad y no te arrepentirás.

Probably you´ve heard in the news that Mexico is a dangerous place to visit and you shouldn’t come under any circumstances. Let me tell you something, that’s no truth at all, I mean, obviously, there are some dangerous areas just like any other place in Latin America. Mexico is a country designed to receive tourists, and it’s into the top ten of the most visited countries in the world.
If you’re planning to come to Los Cabos, Cancún, Playa del Carmen, or Tulum, these are places totally safe, in fact, this kind of beaches are made for international tourism, everybody speaks English, American dollars are accepted anywhere, and there is a special police force to assist tourists and protect visitors.
However, if you want to go beyond touristy resorts, it’s a completely different story. Apart from tourist places, not many people speak English in México. If you want to go to real Mexico you have to take into account the following recommendations.
• Avoid traveling at night and avoid lonely places
• If you don’t speak Spanish, it’s important to visit these places with a local who knows the place you want to go to.
• Always carry cash with you, not many regular stores take credit cards, and always carry small cash, don’t try to pay a 10 pesos bottle of water with 1000 pesos.
• Don't dress flashy and avoid using your smartphone or any other gadget in public.
• Be confident, and act normal
These recommendations are in order to make your trip safer, don’t’ stress out, Mexican people is charm and kind, If you don’t know something, for example how to get to your destination site, I’m pretty sure someone will be glad to help you, that’s why it’s important you know some Spanish, at least the basics.
